AIRTRONICS TAKING ORDERS FOR GARMIN G500/600 TXI READ ATTACHED PRESS RELEASE DETAILS...

Airtronics 28.10.2020

GARMIN G500/600 TXI (Touch Screen) ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY OCTOBER 03, 2017! As Airtronics predicted it would be coming, but ealier than expected. Garmin has announced that the G500 and G600 touch is available for ordering today. The first run of shipments are in production and scheduled to ship on December 15, 2017. Being in the top 10 percent of Garmin dealers worldwide, we had to order two systems, and they will ship to Airtronics December 15, 2017. We plan to be the first Gar...min dealer to have a TXI system installed and flying by Xmas. We have installation kits on way now, and will be moving to change two current G500 installations in progress to the new TXI. As I told many folks purchase a G500 now and it would have been less expensive for you to have the next generation when it releases. Owners of G500 and 600 systems can upgrade the display to the 10 inch touch without any panel work, and minimal wiring. You can move to the newer AHRS, and air data computer or keep the one you have. GAD43 and 43E are still required for the new TXI just as it is for your present interface. So what kind of features does it pack? Well we at Airtronics are still studying, but we know faster processing, more high speed data buss (HSDB), touch command and panning, and get this... The option to have primary engine instruments integrated into the main screen (GDU) now called the GDU700 or GDU1060 (for 10 inch) screens. Enablement such as Jepp charts, and synthetic vision for G500 (standard on G600) are still the case. Yes engine instrumentation is an option. Sorry we do not know if it incorporates twin engine capabilities, and are anxious to see the install manual when it releases mid November. We know that the current G500/600 display (GDU620) is no longer being produced, but will be maintained, and remanufactured for sale. For what time period we do not know. For quotes and inquiries email to [email protected]. You can find out a lot by monitoring here or at flygarmin.com for the latest news.

New AOPA avionics press release. Garmin announces G5 will provide GPS roll steering and heading signal for Century and King autopilots. GARMIN ANNOUNCES G5 ADAPTER FOR THIRD-PARTY AUTOPILOTS July 18, 2017By Jill W. Tallman... Garmin will offer an adapter that will enable its G5 electronic flight instrument to interface with several third-party autopilot systems, the company announced July 18. Photo courtesy of Garmin. The forthcoming GAD 29B adapter will permit the G5 directional gyro/horizontal situation indicator to provide heading and course error to drive the autopilot. With a compatible navigation source, the G5 will be able to interface with certain autopilots for coupled flights in heading and navigation mode. When interfaced with a Garmin GTN 650/750W, the G5 can provide GPSS roll steering navigation from the navigator to the autopilot, Garmin said. Pilots can simply select GPSS on the G5 and the heading mode on the autopilot and the autopilot will fly smooth intercepts, holding patterns, procedure turns, and more, the company said. Autopilots to receive support are Century Bendix King.

FINISHED N354DG and Heading to Rockford, IL on Wed the 19th. The 1958 J35 Bonanza will be on the Beechcraft Ramp for all 120 B2Osh Formation pilots to see this Friday evening. A amazing cockpit. We kept the piano key design, and brought back the circuit breaker cover on both pilot and co-pilot side. From the pic everyone can see a great glass cockpit, but what you can really only see in person are the custom little touches. These custom touches include LED lighting with door ...open switching on the circuit breaker compartments, and custom glove box. Airtronics also had designed a spar cover with cubbies for headsets and new fuel selector cover all fabricated from T3 2024 alloy, and lighted LED. The center vertical tower that houses the control cables and nose gear indicator was replaced by a custom made solid aluminum tower powder coated and custom lit. A challenge to keep to the original shape and bang out but hey.... At Airtronics we are Americans not Americants. See more

Scott Poms mooney got a Garmin Suite of Avionics at Airtronics. Looks like two GTN 750 but we put an ipad mini 4 as an MFD and streamed it with GTN. The remote GTX 345 provides WX and Traffic to both Ipad and GTN. A good back up GPS is found by including the optional internal WAAS GPS and sending signal and AHRS to ipad. Wont run the autopilot but direct to, charts, and flight plans are an easy hand fly in a pinch. Redundancy for sure.

So our next Project arrived.. A 1975 Beechcraft Baron 58 from Santa Barbara. At Airtronics we are very grateful how far people will go to get the best design, best crew, best service, and flat out best experience. Retired 757 pilot Karen Kahn is loves her Baron, and sometimes its time to send the ones you love for a face lift... Im sure my time for a lift will come... heck maybe its over due.. Watch our daily post for progress. Pretty sweet flying into Santa Barbara to drop off Captain Kahn. Gotta have Steamers at Beach Side Grill.
