"49" is a signifcant number in California History. In 1849, over 300,000 flocked to California for the Gold Rush; they came to be known as "49ers!" Of course, we are all familiar with the San Francisco 49er Football Team. The number is also significant in Long Beach. Cal State Long Beach was incorporated in 1949, and the team mascot is the "49er." The upcoming year, 2021, we will be celebrating our "49er" anniversary. Aircraft is N806TJ, a 737-490, originally delivered to Alaska Airlines on 8/21/1992 as N767AS.
