Our Arnold Engineering Development Complex's Aeropropulsion Combined Test Force team seeks to #AccelerateChange with engine testing through AFWERX innovation! The AFWERX Rapid Test Technique Development project attempts to take advantage of emerging technologies, such as 3D printing and advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics, to be better prepared to test new engine designs in altitude test cells, said Steve Arnold, technical advisor for Aeropropulsion at Arnold Air Force Ba...se, Tenn. The AFWERX project uses improved CFD modeling predictions with 3D printing for reduced cost subscale prototyping to better understand the interaction problems and find solutions. In recognition of #BlackHistoryMonth, we recognize the achievements of Col. (Ret.) Michael Stephens, the first African-American officer to graduate as a Flight ...Test Engineer from the USAF Test Pilot School in 1997. We also highlight Capt. Richard Agbeyibor, the Senior Executive Assistant to the Air Force Test Center Commander. Capt. Agbeyibor is involved in the planning of the B-21 Raider's first flight, Orange Flag exercise and pioneering Next Generation Test in preparation for Joint All-Domain Operations. See more

JOINT SIMULATION ENVIRONMENT| Air Force Test Center broke ground on a 72,000 sq. ft. Joint Simulation Environment facility at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Feb. 18 during a ceremony organized by the 412th Electronic Warfare Group. The $34.4 million project will provide a state-of-the-art modeling and simulation environment to conduct fifth-generation and next-generation developmental test, operational test, and high-end advanced training and tactics development for the warf...ighter. The facility is projected to bring 50 jobs to the base in the fields of computer science, engineering, cyber security, electronic-engineering technologies, and logistics. The JSE will be the backbone for live, virtual, constructive test and training and its long term potential is huge. The JSE is key to the evolution of Joint All-Domain Operations, said Maj.
