On this National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the Adventist Health Hanford Birth Center team would like to remind expectant mothers of the value of breastfeeding. Here are some important facts: Breast milk is the only nourishment needed for the first six months of life. Breast milk has antibodies, which protect babies against many common infections. Women who breastfeed have less bleeding after childbirth and have fewer cancers of the ovary, uterus or breast.... Adventist Health Hanford offers virtual childbirth classes, which include a session on breastfeeding. For more information, call Nicole McCord at 559-537-1731. See more
Your normal routine may be on pause, but your healthcare doesn’t have to be. With Adventist Health, you now have more options to manage your health and keep your family safe. Whether you need emergency care, surgery, an in-person doctor’s visit or a virtual appointment, don't delay. We've taken extra steps to ensure our facilities are safe. Daily COVID-19 screenings, universal masking, social distancing and visitor restrictions are just a few of the ways you can feel confident that you're in safe hands.
Although Adventist Health Hanford currently isn't offering in-person childbirth/breastfeeding classes, moms-to-be may access free classes online through our partner Customized Communications Inc.: www2.customizedinc.com/childbirtheducation Moms-to-be, who've taken the classes, say they're easy and very informational. The free online classes will be offered until May 31, 2020.
Tours of our Birth Center have been canceled for the month of March. The staff will resume tours in April. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have questions, please contact Rebecca Mathews at 559-537-1710 or by email at [email protected].
A "princess" leaped into the world on Leap Day! Baby Sariah, which means "princess," was the first baby born in Kings County on Feb. 29 at the Adventist Health Hanford Birth Center. She weighs six lbs., three ounces. Her parents, Wendy and Edward Sr. of Hanford, were expecting Sariah on Feb. 25, but being the princess that she is, she waited to make a grand entrance on a magical day that only happens every four years. The proud parents were presented with a gift basket filled with items from our Birth Center gift shop. Welcome to the world, Sariah!
