Calling All Canine Agility Owners and Trainers: The team at Veterinary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Group (VOSM), in collaboration with Clean Run magazine, is... conducting a study to investigate the impacts of ground material on performance and injury in canine athletes. Although many canine agility trainers perceive their dogs to perform better on some substrates than others, and some dogs may have sustained injuries related to the surface on which they were training, no research studies have been conducted in canine agility dogs to investigate these relationships. Please help us conduct this important research by filling out our survey at the link below. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to fill out, and includes questions about your dog’s agility history, the substrates on which your dog trains and competes and your dog’s performance quality on each substrate, and information about previous injuries. Kathleen Shane, our Trial Secretary, Debby Wheeler, the best volunteer and organizer EVER, Ric Pittman for a beautiful field and Dan Roy for his great equipment. More to come tomorrow but need to organize my thoughts.

There are a few spots open at the Desiree Snelleman seminar in Fallbrook on November 15. It’s a half day, young dogs. Desiree is a great instructor who will tailor the training to the individual. Desiree has been on the AKC world team many times - and she’s super nice. If you’re interested, I can give you some additional info or you can message Noriko Aso on Facebook.

Thanks to our members that came down and shared the fun, pizza and perfect summer weather on Saturday. We had a short meeting and enjoyed the picturesque beauty of our Bay.
