We asked our office managers what question they are asked most often when speaking with a new client- "Do you take my insurance?". Here's the answer: Yes, and no. The question isn't usually if we take your insurance, but rather if you insurance takes us! Each clinician must apply and be vetted by insurance companies in order to be considered "in network". This is a protection for you. The vetting process ensures that all clinicians are up to date on their licensure, are not ...involved in any pending legal disputes, and are able to offer you the best possible care. Most of our clinicians are in network with the most common insurance companies, including TriCare, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Cigna, and IEHP. The easiest way to know if your insurance will cover services at Affiliated Psychological Services is to give us a call at one of our offices. You can also call your insurance directly and ask for a referral to an in-network provider or ask if one of our providers are in-network. If you're unsure about what mental health coverage is offered by your health insurance, calling them is the best first step. You can find the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Don't have insurance or mental health coverage? That's okay, too. If you are employed, many companies offer EAP (Employee Assistance Programs) that offer short-term coverage for mental health, usually up to six sessions. Contact your company's HR department for more information. Some clinicians at Affiliated Psychological Services will accept cash clients as well. Give us a call to discuss your options. Another great Christmas ad! Thanks to the many of you who sent it.
This idea is such an important thing to remember and practice. One of the therapeutic tools I teach clients is the use of positive affirmations & self-talk, man...tras, and self-compassion. Some examples of mantras: "I can & I will." "It is what it is." "I can do this." What is your mantra? What do you use to get yourself motivated?
What keeps you from seeking mental health support? Many people recognize that taking care of their mental health is important. But taking the 1st step toward leading a healthier and more fulfilling life by seeking counseling services can be really scary and complicated. The stigma attached to mental health has been decreasing rapidly over the last decade, but can still be a barrier. Others may not be ready to make the commitment needed to fully engage in treatment. And ther...e are others that simply do not know the resources available to them. No matter your reasons for hesitating to enroll in mental health services, the clinicians at Affiliated Psychological Services can help guide you through the process, set goals, and improve your overall wellbeing. Call the office today at 760 369-7166 to schedule an appointment. https://www.nami.org/Perso/Never-Be-Ashamed-of-Seeking-Help
