We are still looking for judges and mentors to participate in the AESA Science Olympiad on March 17th, 2021 (virtually). The Science Olympiad Committee is looking for professionals and university students who are subject matter experts and are fluent in both Armenian and English, including technical terminology. The speakers will present: - Introduction to Hero House and SmartGateVC - Tech and science activate and involvement opportunities: Hero House AI incubator and ML Labs... - Hero House Glendale initiatives - Hero House and AESA collaboration to establish science support grant structure in Armenia. About the speakers: Vazgen Hakobjanyan is co-founder and partner at SmartGateVC, a deep tech seed VC fund backed by notable venture capital firms and investors as well as serial entrepreneurs. He has more than 18 years of experience in bringing cutting edge computer science algorithms to enterprise/real-world applications including image/signal processing, pattern recognition, AI and EDA. He is the Co-founder and previously VP of Engineering at Teamable Software. He is also a Board Member of YerevaNN , a leading AI and ML research non-profit lab, and founder of ML Labs, doing cutting edges scientific research in various fields of ML and AI. SmartGateVC is the initiator of Hero House, deep tech entrepreneurship hub in Glendale and Yerevan, connecting business development talent and opportunities in the SoCal area with the deep tech teams in Eastern Europe. Armine Galstyan is the Managing Director at Hero House Glendale, a tech and entrepreneurship hub in Southern California. As part of its founding team, Armine is responsible for the establishment and management of Hero House GateWay acceleration program which connects the business opportunities and research universities of Southern California with the deep tech teams of Eastern Europe. Armine's experience spans from accelerator management to startup advisory, partnerships and community management. She played a key role in establishing SmartGateVC's deep tech incubation and pre-acceleration programs, where she worked with 100+ early-stage startups and helped entrepreneurs to raise pre-seed funding. At SmartGateVC, Armine is also part of the investment team (20 portfolio companies as of January 2021). NOTICE: This lecture will be open for the general public.
