Aero Theatre 11.11.2020

March 13, 2020 Dear American Cinematheque Members and Patrons: Given the rapidly evolving public health crisis involving COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in consultation with our Board of Directors, the American Cinematheque is suspending all screenings and public events at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica effective as of Friday, March 13, 2020 until further notice. This is in response to the Governor of California’s recommendations that large... gatherings of over 250 people should be postponed or canceled and that smaller gatherings in venues that do not allow for social distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or canceled. Our top priority is the safety of our patrons, members, staff and volunteers, and we will continue to monitor this health crisis, particularly as it impacts the film exhibition industry and the city of Los Angeles. We know that you were looking forward to screenings advertised on our website. We will do everything possible to reschedule these films in the future. If you are a current Member of the American Cinematheque, your membership will automatically be extended to cover the period while we are dark. If you have purchased a ticket for an upcoming show, either online or at one of our theatres: All Fandango sales made on or before March 13, 2020 have been refunded automatically in full. The credit can take up to 10 days to appear on your statement. If you purchased in-person at either the Egyptian or Aero, you can get a refund at the box office if you bring the ticket to the box office when we re-open for business. Or reach out to [email protected] to set up refund processing over the phone. You can accept a voucher as opposed to a refund, or you can not take a refund and the American Cinematheque will accept it as a donation. You are welcome to e-mail us with any questions about ticket refunds: [email protected] We appreciate your support during this crisis, and look forward to welcoming you back to the Egyptian and Aero as soon as possible. Please continue to check our website at: www.americancinematheque.com for updates on our schedule. Sincerely, Dennis Bartok Executive Director (Interim) American Cinematheque

Burt Reynolds looked back at many aspects of his long career, with moderator Jim Hemphill after a 35mm screening of both GATOR (1976) and THE END (1978) at the American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, on Friday, March 23, 2018. Reynolds covered his favorite stuntman, Hal Needham ("There was no one better."), co-stars Jerry Reed and Lauren Hutton, working often in Georgia (he loved the governor - Jimmy Carter) - including a shoot at the state's most dangerous prison while making THE LONGEST YARD - and much more! #burtreynolds
