My former boss and colleague Doug Shackleton died the day after Thanksgiving. He made a difference in Riverside.

Elected Vice Chair of the Riverside County Planning Commission this week. Not merit based. We go in order of Supervisorial Districts. District 1 is chair in 2021. I will chair in 2022 if I'm still alive. I plan to be alive then.

Our Planning Commission was tasked by the Board of Supervisors to act as the Reapportionment Commission, normally a separate body, to redraw Supervisorial Districts in 2021. A new adventure. Should be fun.

Found a recent photo of former Riverside County Supervisor Norton Younglove on a candidate Facebook page just now. Isn't that a cool name? He was on the Board of Supes before I joined the County in 1979. He must be getting close to 100 by now.

It's good to be meeting in person rather than on zoom for Planning Commission hearings again.
