The Pet Adoption Center of Orange County 02.04.2021

Volunteers are special people who find a way to take what they feel in their hearts and put it to the best possible use. Today we celebrate the life of one of our PAC Volunteer’s whose outlook on life, generosity, kindness and a unique ability to connect with even our most fear challenged pups, inspired us all. Faith never met a challenge she didn’t attack head on and she always found a way to connect with the people around her and the pups who needed her. She had the spiri...t of a warrior and the heart of a lioness protecting her cubs and the PAC and all its two legged and four legged friends were her cubs. She never sat down without a dog in her arms, she baked goodies for us every time there was something to celebrate (ok, even if we weren’t celebrating something) and yelled at us when we complained about the calories. Walk more dogs if you’re worried about the calories she’d quip. She generously donated whenever the PAC needed something and she was the first to roll up her sleeves (and pant legs) and tackle a dirty room or a big mess. Dear friend, we’ll miss your smile, sense of humor, laughter, hard work, generosity of spirit and heart of gold. We’ll remember you often and laugh when we recall all you’ve taught us. Rest in peace Faith, the PAC will miss you. See more

Happy Tails to PAC-OC member Miss Stella. This 6 year old French Bulldog was used as a breeder dog until the vet spayed her during a c-section at 5 years old. She recently had surgery for a cancerous mammary tumor. This is one reason why veterinarians recommend spaying dogs when they are younger. Happy life Stella! #adoptocpets

Welcome to Keyna, the newest member of the PAC-OC. Keyna is a beautiful 7 year old Chihuahua who has the softest fur. This poor pup went through a recent trauma when her owner-who was her constant companion-had a heart attack, fell, and shattered her hip. Keyna stayed with her for hours until she was taken to the hospital. Keyna is still a bit shell-shocked, but is coming around quickly. She’s a sweet girl who is overweight and pad-trained because her owner was unable to walk her for awhile. We’ve already discovered that she likes her walks, so she’ll be back to her svelte figure in no time. Keyna will make a great companion for someone looking to take leisurely walks and have a loving lap dog. Download an adoption application: adoptocpets.org/adopt #adoptocpets

LOOK WHO ARRIVED AT THE PAC! These five female terriers are a Valentine treat! Our volunteers are having fun getting to know them. They are not available to adopt yet. They must all be spayed and fully vetted and groomed. One will need to see an ophthalmologist because we believe she is blind. If you would like to help us pay for their medical expenses, we included a "DONATE" button. As always, we appreciate your support. Any amount, large or small is appreciated. Our little Lewie is sick. He came to us four months ago very ill with an internal infection from his neuter surgery and a deep ear infection. Shortly after his initial recovery, we noticed digestive issues. Lewie has been in and out of the vet for weeks for his sensitive stomach and chronic diarrhea. He’s also having repeated ear infections stemming from a growth in his ear. An abdominal ultrasound revealed abnormalities in his gall bladder and thickening of his intestinal wa...lls. He’s also been diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency, likely related to the intestinal issue. We’ve started treatment, and will need to do follow up diagnostics, including repeated bloodwork and ultrasounds to track his progress. If his treatment plan doesn’t improve his situation, he may need gall bladder surgery. All in all, Lewie just doesn't feel well. These continual visits to the vet are costly. Currently, Lewie's vet bill is up to $1800. Once again, we are asking our supporters to chip in a bit to help us pay for Lewie's medical bills. Our talented Kathy Oda has offered to send her custom cloth face masks to anyone making a $20 donation. She has some Halloween masks along with other all-season masks. She also has a very limited supply of Halloween themed doggie bandanas she would be happy to send for a $20 donation. Remember Callie? She was found in the middle of the road - in the middle of desert - in the middle of night. She almost got run over. Thanks to her rescuer, our volunteers, and her adopter, Callie’s luck has changed. She was adopted by a family guaranteed to give her the best care for the rest of her life, veterinarian Dr. Self of Lake Forest Animal Clinic. Happy Tails, Callie! #adoptocpets #lakeforestanimalclinic
