This is such a powerful testimony from one of our incredible birth moms. What an honor it was and continues to be to journey along side her and her adoptive couple! Please read below for her story! Brayden Reed Abraham Davis, born 8/12/20, was given to me by God to take care of in the best way I was able; and I did. When I found out I was carrying him in my uterus, I stopped everything and reached out to my closest friends. I knew my situation at the time was no where ne...ar what I envisioned for being a mom. In fact, I didn’t want to be a mom at all. But I was sure in that moment that I had a second chance to make a different decision; I was given the opportunity to choose life this time. I dropped down and prayed, surrendering this pregnancy totally into God’s hands. An assurance I could not explain, but totally trusted, washed over me and I was given the drive to step into the unknown of my pregnancy. So I started researching parenting and adoption. The more I learned, the stronger I felt a pull towards and curiosity for open adoption. Through exhausting months of prayer, counseling, researching, and more prayer, I realized that I was given a gift meant for someone else. That word came so strongly to me it was as if I had known it my whole life, and I decided on open adoption. God lead me to Brayden’s parents, and even then I had to go through a test of faith and deeper purging of my life so that I could hear clearly God’s voice. I have a novel to say about the past 10 months, but I am still processing every little detail. So I close this post knowing I have shared a very special part of my life. I hope to say much more in the future to encourage and help women who find themselves at the very same crossroads I found myself at. It’s not simply termination or parenting; there is a third option.
