We are celebrating our official one year anniversary this week! We have been so grateful to serve our Southbay community over the past year. Many people have heard about acupuncture, but may not realize that acupuncture is just one modality under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Other forms of therapy include cupping, tuina, moxa, gua sha, and most importantly, herbal TCM. TCM has so much to offer our healthcare system in the forms of #preventativecare a...nd #integrativehealth. Acupuncture and herbal TCM is currently being utilized in world renowned hospitals as part of integrative care teams in cancer treatments. Due to the fact that many TCM herbs have anti-viral, anti-bacterial and immunomodulatory effects, it also currently being used and studied in-depth as a treatment in this current pandemic. At Acupremier Acupuncture, we commonly recommend TCM herbs as a natural option to alleviate symptoms of bloating, allergies, chronic fatigue, insomnia, irregular menstruation, excess weight gain, low libido, pain due to fibroids or endometriosis, urinary dysfunction, night sweats, hot flashes, anxiety, dizziness/ vertigo, headaches, stress, common colds, frequent colds, and more! Modern day TCM utilizes technology to ensure safety and efficacy in the production of herbs and formulations. The effects of herbs and the interactions between herbs have been studied and documented over a span of more than two thousand years. Herb combinations are safe and side effects are unlikely when used properly. Formulas are selected based on your individual needs. We are currently offering tele-health calls for herbal consultations, and are still open for acupuncture with screening added disinfection protocols. Contact us directly for more info!

Slots are limited- sign up ASAP *No tips or donations accepted When: Wednesday, June 11th, 2-4pm Where: 312 S Catalina Ave., Suite E Redondo Beach, CA 90277 . . . . Ear Acupuncture: the NADA protocol The NADA protocol was developed but the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) to treat emotional trauma and mental health in addiction disorders; however, over the years, it has been adapted for use in many conditions related to stress relief in disaster relief settings. How it works: The NADA protocol consists of five auricular acupuncture points in the ear on both sides, activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Stimulation of the ear has been shown in recent studies to affect the vagus nerve, also known as "the wandering nerve" due to its connection to many organs in the body (the lungs, heart, digestive organs). Activating this system is calming and allows your body to enter the "rest and digest" phase of the body's stress response. Benefits of NADA Relief from stress and emotional trauma Increased calmness, better sleep, and less agitation A discovery of inner quiet and strength Reduced cravings for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine Minimized withdrawal symptoms An easier connection with counseling *Source for benefits https://acudetox.com/nada-protocol/ Signup link in our bio!

At the risk of sounding trite, I would like to leave this reminder here. Many of us are eager to go back to work and enjoy our lives again, and feeling optimistic about a lot of the information we are receiving in the media. Yesterday, I was approached with the question, what difference will 2-3 weeks of isolation make? The only answer I have is, I don’t know. There are just too many angles to this issue. There are many things we know as health professionals about this v...irus, and many things that are not yet understood. Historically, many of these outbreaks eventually end and are studied for decades or centuries afterward, and still there are many questions. No one can accurately or precisely predict the future. Peace comes from acceptance... acceptance that we may not know what the future brings, and we may not be able to control it. We can focus on what we can do right now, within the limits that we’ve been given by the universe or God. Eventually, everything changes. It’s the one thing we can count on. Until then, join me in this daily mantra: This too shall pass

We’re starting a monthly #healthchallenge this month to help you focus on ONE CHANGE in your daily life that will make the biggest impact on your health. Health Challenge #1: AVOID DAIRY AND REFINED SUGAR Yes, we picked a hard one. With all of the delicious desserts, smoothies and ice cream out there, this one is hands down the most difficult one for most people. However, avoiding or eliminating it from your diet will have the BIGGEST IMPACT on your long term health.... Dairy and sugar are two of the biggest culprits leading to what we call dampness in Chinese medicine. Dampness is essentially water retention. Consumption of both dairy and sugar are found to significantly spike insulin levels in the blood (hyperinsulinemia), which causes the body to retain sodium, which then causes you to RETAIN MORE WATER. Many people who are damp experience chronic fatigue, BLOATING, heavy limbs, joint pain, headaches, or chronic nasal allergies. Organisms that thrive in a damp environment also include fungi and yeasts. Candida albicans is one example, which can lead to gut dysbiosis (which leads to bloating) or yeast infections. The best way to resolve these issues are to eliminate the source, which is dampness. For faster ways to eliminate dampness, try to sweat some out with exercise and get acupuncture and herbs . It’s hard, but we’re here for you. Keep us posted!!

It’s #nationalsleepawarenessweek, which celebrates sleep health and reminds us to all prioritize sleep. We know many people experience insomnia in different ways. Many people deal with one or more of the following: *Difficulty falling asleep... *Waking frequently *Waking in the middle of the night, unable to fall back asleep *Waking to urinate *Waking with night sweats All of these forms of insomnia have different diagnoses according to Chinese medicine, and are treated accordingly. Depending on what is keeping you from sleeping through the night, a specific herb combination is recommended. Since we believe sleep is the most important aspect of healing the body, we stock a variety of herb combinations to help you get back to sleep ASAP.
