Facts and myths will be addressed as you get the tools you need to start your breastfeeding journey with confidence. The most important thing you can do for your ...baby right now is stay healthy and breastfeed to support their developing immune system. The class will be Saturday 9/19 from 9:30am-12:30pm, via Zoom. Did you know that we were the very first organization to contribute a half-scholarship to this fund for student midwives of color at the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in San Diego? That was in 2017. And now look! Potentially 6 full or partial scholarships to be offered next year! But not without help from the community. This post is long overdue, but I personally want to share my extreme gratitude for all the staff, students, and ESPECIALLY families of Acorn Birth Center! Everyone knows that we have been so extremely busy trying to take as many families into care as we can during this interesting COVID season. My midwives and students have such amazing hearts for working so hard and so selfishly! And my families, thank you so much for recognizing that you are part of an amazing community whe...re we all need to look out for one another to ensure safety for all! It's only through your good communication and relationship with your midwives that we can continue to provide the care that we do. And your patience with us is also amazing on those very busy days due to births! I feel like I have the best job in the world, and I am grateful every day to be a small part of everyone's journey. Whether our journey as a mother is short and fleeting or lasts all our lives, being touched by Motherhood transforms us forever. May we all honor it, respect it, and be grateful for the mothering we have all received and given in our lives.

Cesarean rate of 5% VBAC success rate of 75% Breastfeeding success rate of 95.8% We welcomed 65 boys and 55 girls this year!
