A and T Raceway

8 racers today!!!!!!

Well, we had another fun day at A and T Raceway. The turnout was a little on the light side. Thanks to A and T Raceway veteran Bruce Browne and it was great to see Bill Goes, whose schedule finally lined up so he could make his first visit. With only 4 racers on hand for the first race we decided to just run 3 cars on the track using white, yellow, and blue, and when it was your turn on red you were the turn marshal. Since there was only 3 heats of racing for everybody we de...cided to go with 4 minute heats instead of 3. The newly bodied 1/32 Indy cars were up first. Animal got the scratch win but the official results with the handicaps added looked like this: 1st place Bruce 269+ 9=278 2nd place Animal! 276+ 0=276 3rd place Bill G. 242+30=272 4th place Super T 271+ 0=271 Congrats Bruce! Just as we were getting ready to run the second race, first timer Bill Simon made it to our track. We gave Bill a little extra time to get his feet wet and he seemed to pick it up pretty fast. With 5 racers now, we were able to go back to our usual 3 minute heats, and the Late Models were the choice for this one. Super T got the scratch win, but after the handicaps the winner and 2nd place were on the same lap with the margin of victory about 3 feet. So, who won? Here’s the results: 1st place Bill S. 240+50=290 2nd place Bill G. 250+40=290 3rd place Bruce 277+ 9=286 4th place Super T 285+ 0=285 5th place Animal! 284+ 0=284 Bill Simon gets his first win in his first race!! Bill S. had to leave after his win in race 2, but I think he had a great time. With the field back to 4 racers we ran the 1/32 GTP cars. We went back to the format of the first race for this one. Animal got the scratch win in this one, and it was good enough for the overall win: 1st place Animal! 270+ 0=270 2nd place Super T 263+ 0=263 3rd place Bill G. 228+34=262 4th place Bruce 257+ 5=262 Thanks again to everyone who joined us for another fun day of racing. Just got home after a work day at the track. We recessed the track condition lights into the soft walls. It looks so much better now and the lights shouldn’t get any abuse from excited turn marshals now! We found some sections of braid that needed some super glue love, and we gave the track a good cleaning. It was a good, productive day!!!

Well, with a few of our racers enjoying retirement life out on the road this month, brother Mike and I are gonna make the trip up north and check out the new Piranha Speedway and Hobbies this weekend. I've seen some great pics of this place, so we're gonna run some of our personal cars around their two tracks....should be fun!!!!

Another day of fun was on tap for us at A and T Raceway today. While 7 racers were here for the start of things, John Jones got a call from his wife and had to leave, I hope everything is OK with John and his family. Thanks to Bruce Browne, Steve Smith, Corky Mills, and Rapid Ron Esau for joining us for the day’s action. We started out with the fast LMP cars. This turned out to be one of closest finishes in A and T Raceway history after the handicaps were added in. All 6 driv...ers were within just 4 laps of each other! Here’s the results: 1st place Animal! 299+ 0=299 2nd place Rapid Ron 279+20=299 3rd place Steve 258+40=298 4th place Corky 279+19=298 5th place Bruce 286+10=296 6th place Super T 295+ 0=295 Animal gets the win by less that two feet! Then we decided to run the 1/32 Indy cars. This was another close finish, with only 9 laps separating the field at the end of this one! Here’s the results: 1st place Steve 239+40=279 2nd place Super T 278+ 0=278 3rd place Animal! 277+ 0=277 4th place Corky 268+ 8=276 5th place Bruce 269+ 7=276 6th place Rapid Ron 258+12=270 Congratulations Steve, I think that’s your first win ever!! What a fun day of racing with close finishes. We’ll do it again soon!! Thanks again to everyone who joined us, we can’t have fun without you here!!!!!!

Let’s have some fun this weekend!!

Here’s a video of the last heat of the night with our new green and flashing yellow lights we added to the track. I bet we’re the only track with soft walls and track condition lights!!!!

Another fun night of racing for us all at A and T Raceway. Seven racers were on hand for the action. Thanks to Bruce Browne, Steve Smith, Corky Mills, and Barona racers David Hunt and first timer and Sport Compact driver Angela Hansen. We started off the night with the LMP cars. These are some of the fastest cars in A and T’s stable so the racing was fun to say the least. Although Animal got the scratch win, the final results after the handicaps looked like this: 1st place ... Bruce 289+14=303 2nd place Corky 280+20=300 3rd place Animal! 299+ 0=299 4th place Steve 247+50=297 5th place Super T 292+ 0=292 6th place David H. 219+50=269 7th place Angela 178+50=228 Bruce gets another win.....way to go!! Then we decided to run the big 4 1/2 inch Mercury Cyclone cars. Super T had a great race and got the scratch win, but was it enough to hold off the handicappers? Here’s the results: 1st place Super T 266+ 0=266 2nd place Bruce 261+ 4=265 3rd place Corky 250+14=264 4th place Animal! 264+ 0=264 5th place Steve 212+50=262 6th place David H. 196+50=246 7th place Angela 185+50=235 Super T gets the victory! Way to go brother!! Well, what a fun night of racing! David and Angela asked if we could have the next race on an off-night for Barona, so we’ll try hard to accommodate them for our next race. Well, it looks like an 80% chance for thunderstorms at Daytona tonight, but there’s a 100% of racing at A and T Raceway tonight! Come on down and have some fun with us! Practice starts at 6pm....
