Sweet or savory? Tell me in the comments. Oatmeal is one of those foods that we all know and one of the most eaten breakfast foods. But oatmeal doesn’t have to be just breakfast! Here’s 4 ideas to take your oats from sweet to savory!... Sweetest: Sliced banana is one of the easiest and yummiest ways to sweeten your oats. Mash it in with a fork and you’ll have banana in every bite. Sweeter: Berries are also sweet but not as sweet as banana. They’re also loaded with fiber making these oats fiber full which means great pooping. Savory: Easiest way to transition is to add a fried egg or top your oats with a chopped hard boiled egg. Then add a handful of spinach. Season with salt and pepper. Savoriest: Mushrooms add that umami flavor to your oats making this the savoriest option of them all. You can even add a little grated cheese. So sweet or savory? Tell me in the comments. For more gut friendly recipes download my 5 days to better gut health guide. Link is in my bio. P.s I recognize that these flavor additions are not all low fodmap. In my practice I do not use the low fodmap diet. Instead I focus on food sensitivities. I’ll talk about why in another post. #irritablebowelsyndrome #foodsensitivities #allergies #bloatedbelly #constipation #ibs #guthealth #gutfriendly #healthygut #guthealthtip #healthytips #diarrhea #healyourgut #digestion #leakygut #mindbody #easyrecipe #quickrecipes #mealprepping #mealprepideas #mealplans #foodprepping #cleaneat #oatmealbowl #savoryoatmeal #overnightoatmeal #savory #sweetandsavory #rolledoats #steelcutoats See more

Save this recipe! So what makes this a detox smoothie? It’s the greens! Don’t let that lettuce sit in the back of the fridge getting moldy and instead toss it in your smoothie. ... My 2 tips for this smoothie. Use lettuce like butter leaf or green leaf. They’re milder flavors and softer texture making it ideal for a smoothie. Kiwi skins are edible. No need to scoop out the flesh if you don’t wanna. Directions Blend 1 cup of lettuce , 1/2 cup pineapple (chopped), 1 Tbsp ginger (chopped), 1 cup cucumber (chopped), 2 cups water, 2 kiwis (chopped), 2 Tbsp parsley, 1/4 avocado . Salads are great but sometimes it’s just easier to drink your greens. Want some more easy gut friendly recipes? Download my 5 days to better gut health guide. Let’s talk about this.... Imagine this. You’re browsing the supplement aisles at the store and you see a supplement you’ve heard a lot about. It’s supposed to help your gut somehow. You toss it into your basket and start taking it that day because you’re excited to see results. You think you notice a difference, maybe less bloating or indigestion, but you’re not sure, time passes, and the supplement starts to collect dust on your shelf.... The allure of supplements is strong especially when you feel like you’ve made some changes to your diet already. Truth is more times than not you haven’t explored how far food can take you before you grabbed that supplement and I’m including myself in that statement. Diet changes take time and are a commitment. And there’s so much power and nuances to food that supplements can’t capture. Don’t get me wrong. Supplements have their place and can be a real game changer for people. For some people supplements are their first line of defense. Really give food some time and explore how far it can take you. This is where working with a dietitian can be extremely helpful. It cuts through the confusion and gives you a roadmap. Want to start on something today? Download my 5 days to better gut health guide. It’s full of tips, tricks, recipes, and extra resources.
