A Sense of Place lost a close friend this past week. And I have lost a fine and trusted friend. Rex Williams, a fine photographer and framer, passed away unexpectedly on February 3rd. Rex was well known in the art community for his fine work and his generosity, though I suspect many did not know how deep his commitment was to our gallery and to our patrons. He helped set up nearly every reception. The beautifully presented gallery hangings were his doing. He even did minor r...emodeling in the gallery and installed fixtures when we needed it. And he often helped our patrons by hanging paintings and installing art in their homes. As a craftsman, he had few peers. As a friend, he was peerless. My husband and I miss him tremendously, and we send our condolences to all whose lives were touched by this kind and generous friend. And especially, we send our thoughts to his wife and family.

Two artists Kathy Gillis and Corky Normart had paintings that found a new home yesterday. The gallery is being rehung so by Wednesday we should look grand, stop by and see all of the new work.

This is Kathy Gillis's newest painting "Country Church" it will be at the gallery when we rehang this next week on January 26th. Come in and see all of the newest work.

Excited to be back at the gallery full time starting today. Tuesday through Saturday 10:00-5:00 and Wednesday 1:00 -5:00. This weekend we are hosting an outdoor Fall Art Festival. Great art, great prices, and artists painting live. Masks and social distancing will be required.

The gallery is open this week Wednesday through Saturday. Teddy is even here painting with us today. Stop in and enjoy watching art happen.
