Almost 5 months of closures for our industry! We don’t want unemployment WE WANT TO WORK!! The data on safety by the CDC and other independent studies supports us and there are no reasonable explanations as to why we are forced to remain closed while a majority are open. A majority of us are women owned and many mothers that provide for their families. Small business women and minority owned. An industry that brings people out of poverty. Over 600,000 licensed professionals in the state of California that support their families and our economy. Small business is the backbone of this country.#opensalonsnow

This is so well said and I support this We are asking for the assistance of our friends and family! Anything that you can do to get the word to the Decision Makers and ultimately Gavin Newsom and people who decide the fate of our industry. An industry that supports small business owners, a majority that are Minority and Women Owned! Many who are the sole providers for their families! If there are no Covid cases that came out of salons during the 6 weeks of opening then we have earned the right to reopen; maintaining our highest level of Covid practices! Because masks work!!! Today we spent our first day out in over 3 months. It was so nice to walk the promenade, collect some sunlight and enjoy a late lunch in the outside patio of @alohasteakhouse supporting local business. The last few months have been challenging, worrisome and a rollercoaster of emotions. This day was symbolic of our caution and optimism of the reopening of our own family business this week @asecretplacesalon. We know we have a very busy few months ahead but we have our strength, positive outlook and know that we can get through anything together. We aren’t open quite yet, however, our clients and community’s safety is our number one priority. We want you to know that we are taking all the necessary precautions to help prepare for your safe return. All stations are at least 6 feet apart, we have installed splash guard barriers between each shampoo bowl and we are stocked up on cleaning supplies for constant use.
