Effective tomorrow, we’re back to Red! For a second week in a row, #SLOCounty metrics under the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy have moved in the right ...direction. As a result, we can now move from Purple Tier to the Red Tier. The county's adjusted case rate is now just below 7 and its positivity rate and health equity metric continued to drop, staying at Orange Tier levels now for two weeks. It’s the fact that these two metrics dropped two tiers below case rate levels that make SLO County eligible for what the State calls "accelerated progression" through the tiers; prompting the county’s move into the Red Tier. What does this mean for SLO County? Restaurants can open indoors (25% capacity) In addition to K-6th grade schools, middle and high schools can now re-open for in-person instruction with modifications Certain outdoor and indoor youth and recreational adult sports may resume, with modifications Movie theaters can open indoors (25% capacity) Gyms and fitness centers can open indoors (10% capacity) Museums, zoos and aquariums can open indoors (25% capacity) And more! Remember, while some operations can now move indoors, indoor environments still pose substantial risks for #COVID19 transmission, so choose virtual or outdoor options whenever possible and limit time indoors when outside your home.
