Main Street, Tiburon August 1969. Like yesterday's Tiburon Tommie's shot, this is another one from the batch of my friend's rediscovered slides. Along with Tomm...ie's and Sam's, he caught a police car at the end of the street. The words visible on the Tiburon Playhouse's marquee Are "Adults... The... of... Sister..." from which I deduce they're showing Robert Aldrich's "The Killing of Sister George," which had earned an X from the newly-instituted MPAA rating system in late 1968. Looks like it hit the art house circuit after flopping at the box office. I had to restore the Kodachrome slides both physically - they were covered with crud that had adhered to both the base and the emulsion - as well as digitally, as they were overexposed by perhaps two stops.
