My mood was all over the place, and my rheumatoid arthritis was bad. Why did you decide to join the challenge? I knew I needed to make a lifestyle change, and a challenge was the motivation I needed. It helped to get some of my medical issues under control. What was the most difficult part of the challenge? It was getting enough sleep. How did the challenge help you overcome difficulty and help you reach your goal? My rheumatoid arthritis was more under control with diet and exercise. The workouts improved my mood and gave me something to work for. What are you most proud of accomplishing during the challenge? I was able to stick to it the whole way through. I didn’t falter even for a single meal or workout. Outside of weight loss, what results did you achieve during the challenge? I am completely off all medications and feel great. How is life different after completing the challenge? I feel better about myself. I’m more energetic and happier. What would you say to anyone thinking about joining the challenge? The support you get from coaches is outstanding. They are truly concerned about you and your goals, not about judging you for being out of shape like other gyms.

I felt sluggish and tired most of the time. My joints ached, and my body felt heavy and stiff. More than that, my emotional state was blue. I felt embarrassed and ashamed. Why did you decide to join the challenge? My daughter encouraged me. She wanted to see me making healthier choices. I knew I couldn’t continue where I was emotionally and physically. I needed and wanted to make a positive change. What was the most difficult part of the challenge? Walking through the door and admitting I needed help. Also, after walking through the door, seeing all the people, and hearing about the challenge, I felt overwhelmed. How did the challenge help you overcome difficulty and help you reach your goal? My coach, Nicholas, is great! The first two weekends of the challenge I had back to back food tasting buffets for two kids that are getting married in several months. Nicholas calmly reminded me that one meal a week isn’t going to sabotage my entire week, so taste what you want and enjoy. I took his advice. I was mindful about what I tasted and the amount that I put on my plate - I already know what mashed potatoes taste like, so I chose to skip those. I honestly debated about not doing this challenge because I knew the first two weekends would be difficult for me to reign in my eating habits, but with great coaching and a positive mindset, I tasted ALL the food I wanted to and then the next morning I started back on the challenge. Looking back, those first two weekends gave me the confidence I needed to know I could still participate in food events and overcome my old unhealthy eating habits! What are you most proud of accomplishing during the challenge? I’m most proud of staying the course. I found it to be easier when I could have a ‘treat meal’ each week because I had eaten healthy for the other meals. Outside of weight loss, what results did you achieve during the challenge? ME! I’m getting ‘ME’ back! Yes, I have more energy, my clothes fit better, my friends and family are complimenting me, and most of all, I feel optimistic and empowered! How is life different after completing the challenge? My body is leaner, my heart is stronger, and I’m excited about the future. What would you say to anyone thinking about joining the challenge? You deserve it, you really do!

My main struggles before the challenge were my horrible eating habits. I was constantly eating out all the time. I would skip meals, and I would overeat, causing myself to feel sluggish and tired all the time. I never had any energy and lacked motivation. Why did you decide to join the challenge? I decided to join the challenge because my weight was getting out of control. I was heavier than I had ever been in my life. Since diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and cholesterol run in my family, I thought I must get a handle on my weight and health before I develop any of these health conditions. What was the most difficult part of the challenge? The most difficult part of the challenge was meal prepping and getting used to eating 4 meals a day. How did the challenge help you overcome difficulty and help you reach your goal? It helped me realize that it is ok to work at my own pace and that consistency is key. What are you most proud of accomplishing during the challenge? I'm proud that I lost more than 20 pounds in 8 weeks. I changed my lifestyle. I went from eating junk food and candy to eating a diet mostly composed of lean protein and vegetables. It wasn't easy, and I'm still shocked at what I was able to accomplish in only 8 weeks. Outside of weight loss, what results did you achieve during the challenge? I eliminated my shoulder and back pain. I have so much more energy. I can run up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath. I can do regular pushups. I can hold a plank for 60 seconds. How is life different after completing the challenge? Life after the challenge is different because I am better at managing my time, I cook healthier meals, and I plan out what I'm going to be eating for the week. What would you say to anyone thinking about joining the challenge? I would highly recommend the Fit Body Challenge to anyone looking to lose weight or anyone just looking to live an overall healthier lifestyle. The support I received from all the coaches was great. I have found something here that not only helped me physically but helped me mentally as well.

I struggled so hard to lose weight and to maintain a healthy diet. I ate a lot of drive-thru food, a lot of binge eating, and a lot of unhealthy habits. I struggled to walk up the stairs, to bend with my knees, and man, even tying my shoes was a challenge. Why did you decide to join the challenge? My wife saw it online and decided she wanted to do it. I really was only along for moral support. Then I fell in love with the whole program, my coach giving suggestions and support, and reading all the success online was a great motivator. Seeing people go through the same struggles together is awesome. What was the most difficult part of the challenge? Staying true to yourself and following the meal plan when I’m out on the job. So many temptations with food and alcohol. How did the challenge help you overcome difficulty and help you reach your goal? I shot a huge number to my coach at the beginning of the challenge - I wanted to drop 30 pounds. I never thought that it could happen, but it did and more!!! My knees are bothering me way less, and I feel so much more confident with my own body. What are you most proud of accomplishing during the challenge? Personally, the inches lost off my belly. What I’m really most proud of is my beautiful wife, Clarissa, for taking the plunge into this and wanting to get exercise and eat healthy. More than anything, I feel this has strengthened our marriage. We are planning our meals together; she watches me as I prep the meals, and we have great conversations. Outside of weight loss, what results did you achieve during the challenge? Knee pain is less, and we are running mini boot camps at home to get our kids involved. We are closer as a family, and this wasn’t anything I imagined with this program. It was the spark to fuel our healthy future. How is life different after completing the challenge? One cheat day today, then we are back on the program. I still have further personal goals that I have my eyes set on. What would you say to anyone thinking about joining the challenge? DO IT! It has changed my life on so many different levels, and I am a jokester, but I also can sell this program, and I will!
