IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE. normal (for this time of year). Please keep in mind we’re not there yet. Most all of the snow play areas, and all of the Sno-Parks on the 168 corridor were burned by the Creek Fire and are CLOSED. Utility and tree crews are still working above the snow line. Playing in the snow near the highway is never a good idea and dangerous due to burned and weakened trees. ... Keep an eye on @skichinapeak website to see when they will open for the ski season. Be prepared for snow chain requirements and road closures. #itssnowing #caution #maybenotnow #mountainstrong #creekfire #youliketheview

If it rains, it will snow! If it speeds, it will slide! If you must travel on the mountain roadways, please prepared for sudden changes in driving conditions. Slow down, buckle up, and carry tire chains in the event of snowfall. #winterishere #babyitscoldoutside #slowdown #mountainlife

When crossing the road, whatever your why may be, always be sure to look both ways, use marked crosswalks, and use items to help others see you (reflective items, glow sticks, flashlights, etc.) #trickortreat #smellmyfeet #whydidthechickencrosstheroad #lookout #pedestriansafety

Two-way controlled intersections: only drivers on one roadway have controls (either stop signs, or signal controls). Be aware as you approach any intersection. Use caution and obey the rules of the road. Never forget to buckle up and make sure all passengers are properly buckled. #drivesafe #rightofway #buckleup

MORNING COMMUTE results in arrest. CHP dispatchers received calls of a pedestrian throwing objects at passing vehicles near the SR-180/SR-41 interchange. The pedestrian struck at least one vehicle with a rock, and also threw a metal object at a passing @fresnosheriff patrol car. Fortunately, @fresno.pd AIR1 helicopter was overhead and tracked the pedestrian into the arms of CHP officers. The pedestrian was arrested for vandalism and throwing objects at vehicles. If you see unsafe activity report it by calling 9-1-1. #keepingyousafe #temworkmakesthedreamwork #gotojail #morningcommute

Creek Fire thank you note to the CHP - We are equally thankful for the dedication of all of the firefighters and logestics crews who have been, and continue to be on the front lines of our hometown fire. I just want to reach out and let you know how happy and thankful I am that one of your officers was able to help me on the Creek Fire today. I am a Wildland Fire Fighter on an engine and with the recent drop in weather I was unprepared. I asked one of your officers if I g...ave them money would they pick up a jacket for me when they went home before returning to the creek fire. Not only did the officer bring me a sweat shirt but he also brought an extra pair of thermal leggings and a thermal shirt and refused to let me pay for it. His actions went above and beyond his call of duty and because of him I am now super warm and can carry on my duties. Thank you #creekfire #mountainstrong See more
