South Lake Bishop Fish Report 10-15-20 South Lake Bishop.... Water level is still at a very good level for this time of year. .... Fishing hasn’t been wide open but the bite has been solid this past week. Trolling, bait and lures are all working. . . Most impressive is the large number of quality fish in the 2lb to 6.5lb range. Most of the big fish are coming at the back of the lake but the Rock Slide is worth a shot too. . . Hot lures - kastmasters, Thomas Buoyants in red/gold and Sierra slammer jigs in grasshopper or mimosa. Best Baits - Rainbow PB and Nightcrawlers Best Flies - wooly buggers, bead head nymphs . . The bigguns are biting!!! We reopened the dock @ South Lake Bishop yesterday and as expected, there were plenty of fish and they were super aggressive after not seeing any anglers for the past 4 weeks. Come and get ‘em folks. . . The lake level is still about 10ft from full pool so the back of the lake is ready and waiting for you! .... . The fish pictured weighed in at 5lb 1oz, 5lb 5oz, 6lb 1oz and another 5lb 1oz. . Well, the email we received from US Forest Service representatives this morning regarding the imminent reopening of the forest 9/25 only lasted a few hours and has since been replaced by an email stating that the closure may extend another week. Back to the waiting game we go.....sorry gang, nobody is more frustrated than we are right now. . We’ll shoot out the latest update as soon as it is available. . #thewaitcontinues

Our new tentative reopening date is Friday 9/25. . Let’s all send some good vibes to our firefighters and support crews and hope we get some help from Mother Nature so we can get back to the fun! .
