All SDCL branches are serving as an official Mail Ballot Drop Off location for the 2020 Election. Your signed, sealed, and dated mail ballot can be dropped off at any of our locations. To accommodate this, library services will temporarily change days.

The Friends of the 4S Ranch Library took notice of the skyrocketing popularity of our County's Overdrive collection and voted to support its online ebook/audiobook collection. As a result, a donation of $1000 was issued to the County Library's ebooks collection. If you've never tried checking out ebooks from the SDCL, now is a great time to try it out! We are excited that the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library Book Nook is now open during the hours that the Library is open for in-person service! Browse the Book Nook shelves and pick up some reading material at bargain prices. Please pay for your purchases at the Pay box located at the end of the shelf, and remember to bring exact change, as the library staff is unable to break up bills or provide change. Welcome back everyone, and happy browsing!

SDCL is excited to expand its library services at all 33 branches! Branches will offer limited in-person services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1...0 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The sanitation break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. allows for the cleaning of public spaces within the buildings. Walk-up, door-side services are available on Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Services offered, with certain limitations, include computer use, Wi-Fi access, printing and copying, holds pickup, access to books, movies, and CDs for checkout, and materials returns. Properly worn facial coverings and physical distancing are required for all staff and customers at all times. More info at sdcl.org/services

Great news, No appointments are needed! San Diego County Library is now providing walk-up door-side services at all 33 branches. How It Works ... Step 1: Request an item at sdcl.org or by calling your local branch. Step 2: We will notify you (email, phone call, or print mail) when your item is ready. Step 3: Visit the library’s door-side pickup area during open hours, Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. Bring your library card or government ID. Step 4: Wait in the designated area and a staff member will assist you. Step 5: Enjoy your materials! All due dates for SDCL materials have been extended to Dec. 31, 2020. And remember that properly worn facial coverings and physical distancing are required for all staff and customers.

Remember that your San Diego County Library has door side service. How does it work you might ask? In 5 easy steps. 1. Place request on an item throug...h sdcl.org or by calling your local branch 2. Staff will call you to make an appointment when your item is ready for pick up 3. When you pick up your item, please remember to wear your facial covering 4. If you have materials to return, you can bring them with you 5. Returned items will be quarantined for at least 4 business days before they are checked in For more information, please visit sdcl.org/services
