We miss gathering, listening, learning, and laughing together in person! In 2017 artist Mark Thompson tested Bernie Lubell’s Somewhat in Doubt (2015) during the Organic Logic program series, an evening full of listening and laughing together. This three-part series was guest organized by Tanya Zimbardo and accompanied the inaugural project in The Garage, also titled Organic Logic, including works by Howard Fried, John Roloff, and Mark Thompson. #davidirelandhouse #500capps...treet #historicartistshomesandstudios #sfartist #bayareaartist * * * #tbt to last Thursday evening (March, 2017) during our final Organic Logic program. We loved seeing Mark Thompson try out Bernie Lubell's piece Somewhat in Doubt, 2015. Lubell created this work during a residency at Autodesk "After distributing a questionnaire asking people whether they decided how things turned out or whether their machines decided. The answers tended to the middle -- sometimes I decide, sometimes the machine does. The disappointing result revealed nothing about how anyone thought. Through a series of accidents, I wound up making a mechanized stool that was only stable leaning all the way right or left. The stool with ratchet and scales became a questionnaire that had no midpoint answer. It is a machine that makes you decide before you realize you have decided." #bernielubell #500cappstreet
