Images Theatre Company believes that education/information is empowering as evidenced by 17 years of our work onstage & in schools! This article (see link below) provides a historical backdrop and places today’s national Black Lives Matter and peaceful protests in proper context. This is to say: After 400 years of oppression and murder, enough has become TOO MUCH and the knee (or foot) on our necks must be removed! #TakeYoKneeOffMyNeck... #SolidarityWithGeorgeFloyd #SolidarityWithBLM See more

To: OUR SUPPORTERS From: IMAGES THEATRE COMPANY Please NOTE: IMAGES THEATRE COMPANY has HALTED all programming and fundraising efforts. There are a lot of scams going on during the COVID-19 pandemic and we don’t want you to be fooled. ... In good conscience, we cannot and will not ask our friends and Images patrons for monetary donations while so many are struggling, are without employment and/or trying to make ends meet and get through this crises. It is not how we choose to do business during this horrific time. We are grateful that we were able to complete our Black History Month show, The Eve of Jackie and of our prior success in securing the grants that we competed for prior to the Coronavirus epidemic. And, we are grateful for your previous ongoing generosity in donations. Because of your loyal support, the Eve of Jackie was highly successful in every, way! This, and grants we shall rely upon to see us through. Unlike many of our counterparts, we do not have a brick & mortar building where the rent is due. So, should we find that we need funding to tide us over through the Spring, there are other government resources we will look to for assistance. Your support for the past 16+ years has allowed us to continue moving forward in difficult times. Your loyalty as artists, friends, and patrons of IMAGES is greatly appreciated and we choose to not overburden you at this time. It is difficult enough. My prayer is that we will all emerge better and with a closer, shared humanity from this experience. Thank you so very much for your past support. God willing, we will look forward to seeing you in the Fall when we resume our Master Artist Workshops & Performance Series for Schools and culturally, diverse, underserved communities. Until then, please be safe, be well, & be blessed. Respectfully & In Gratitude, Lisa Lacy, Executive/Artistic Director and the Images Theatre Company Board
