Some of the men residing at the Shelter are in need of bike locks. We offer bike racks for them to use while they are here, but not all of them have a lock for their bike. If you want more information please call (209) 465-3612 or email [email protected] Any and All donations are greatly appreciated! Donation Link: https://bit.ly/3gKPCru
We have had a number of questions about the trailers that were given to the Shelter by Mayor Tubbs. We realized that there hasn’t been much follow-up since the trailers were delivered in February. Back then we never imagined the need for isolating sick individuals or needing a place to temporarily house vulnerable veterans, but then came COVID-19. Families are still utilizing some of the trailers for transitional housing, but we are also using some for quarantining and safety purposes. We are so grateful that these trailers were here this summer when COVID-19 came to our Shelter. Thank you, Michael Tubbs and Gavin Newsom for making them available! Thank you Michael Tubbs for bringing the Shelter staff lunch last Friday! It was very much appreciated by everyone here!
James Eskridge Jr., our men's case manager here at the Shelter has been working with the Ready to Work program in Stockton to get some of our homeless men into their program. In the past week we have seen 4 men leave the Shelter on their way to a better life! The Ready to Work Program provides housing and all of the resources needed to get a good job and into a home after completion. We wish these guys the best of luck!! Thanks for partnering with us Ready to Work San Joaquin! https://www.readytoworksjc.org/programs/
