2020 has been filled with up’s and down’s, but we want to remember the sweet things. The Pinole Senior Center is creating a cookbook called A Sweet Way to Remember 2020. Members and non-member are welcome to submit a recipe. Tis the season for baking! The Pinole Senior Center is hosting a virtual holiday cookie recipe exchange to help you find the best recipes. Pinole Senior Center 26.09.2020

Thanksgiving is upon us and you know what that means, TURKEY! The Pinole Senior Center will be hosting a Turkey Raffle Nov 1st - 20th. To enter the raffle please email the Recreation Coordinator, [email protected], or call the Front Desk at (510) 724-9800 with the following information: First and Last Name Phone Number Member or Non-Member Entry into the raffle is FREE! Winners will be contacted on Monday, Nov 23rd with instructions on how they can pick up the turkey. We want to give a special thank you to the office of Contra Costa Supervisor, Federal D. Glover, for the kind donation of turkeys.

Pinole Senior Center 19.09.2020

On Tuesday, November 3rd, the Pinole Senior Center will be open as an official polling location for the election. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be heavily enforced. Contra Costa County continues to encourage voters to vote early and submit their ballot to county drop boxes. To drop off your ballots early an official ballot collection box is located outside of Pinole City Hall. Ballots can be dropped off at the Senior Center, but only on the day of the election. The center polling hours will be from 7 AM 8 PM

Pinole Senior Center 30.08.2020

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County will be providing free 15-20 pound boxes of nonperishable food and bags of fresh produce on Monday, November 9th from 9 AM to 11 AM (or as supplies last) at the Pinole Senior Center. You do NOT need to be a member of the Pinole Senior Center or a senior to receive food. Quantities are limited. First come first serve. One box and/or bag per household. Please bring your own bag with handles or cart to carry items. Pinole Senior Center 02.08.2020

Join the City of Pinole as we host our Trunk or Treat Food Drive event this Saturday, October 24th from 11-1pm at the Tiny Tots Facility (2454 Simas Ave.). All participants are encouraged to dress up or decorate their cars. The recreation team will distribute Halloween treat bags to all participants. All donations received will be donated to the Contra Costa and Solano Food Bank. This will be a contactless event, please place donated items in your trunk (canned goods and non-perishable items only). Staff will remove the items and place a treat bag in the trunk. A friendly reminder that this a drive-through event, parking will not be allowed.

Pinole Senior Center 25.07.2020

The Pinole Senior Center, located at 2500 Charles Ave., has been activated as a cooling center due to the current and projected high temperatures. Please note this is a soft activation. The center will be open to the public from 12:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th. Please note that people wishing to use the cooling center will be required to perform a health screening and temperature check prior to entering the facility, facemasks will be... required for all users, and users must follow all cooling center guidelines. Spaces at the center are available on a first come, first served basis. Please call the Senior Center at 510-724-9800 for additional information. All patrons must wear a mask, follow physical distancing guidelines, participate in screening process and complete the cooling center guidelines form. Patrons must stay in the designated cooling center area only. Patrons should not congregate with other patrons and must stay in their assigned space. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not allowed in the cooling center. Accommodations will be made for service animals only. (Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.) Charging stations for electronics will be available but patrons must follow the charging station guidelines. Please do not move any of the furniture. Please clean up after yourself and leave area the way you found it. Use language and behavior that is respectful, courteous and will not offend or disturb others. Please keep noise level down to a reasonable and respectful volume. Please bring your own reading material, the library will not be available. Please no sleeping or lying on the ground. Please do not place feet on the furniture. Belongings should be limited to two bags per person. No smoking or vaping allowed. Restrooms may only be used one person at a time. Water bottles will be available for patrons to consume in the cooling center. (limit 3) Those with disruptive behavior will be asked to leave

Join the Recreation Department as we host our Community Costume Raffle! Dress up in your Halloween costume and send us a photo. All photos received will be entered in the raffle. Raffle winners will receive a gift card to a local Pinole business. Raffle is open to Senior members and non-members. To submit your photo email the Senior Center Recreation Coordinator at [email protected]. The deadline to enter is Oct 17th by 6 PM. Winners will be announced on October 20th. Winning photos will be displayed and featured on the Recreation Department page on the City of Pinole website.
