Day 2 of the LAFD-CERT AlertWildfire Camera deployment at the DOC proved to be a huge success. Janet, Emanuele, May and Yours Truly worked from approximately 1...000hrs until 1600hrs monitoring the AlertWildfire Cameras. All these cameras are open to the public, but by using a designated LAFD-CERT team member sitting at the DOC with a Chief or a Captain and Metro Fire right across the hall the ability to get an experienced eye quickly on the fire has proven to be very powerful asset. They immediately can determine what and how many resources to send to the incident. After a brush fire has been reported, we can dial into the correct camera and put their eyes on the fire and the lume up so they can start their projections for resources. What a great tool.
