They wanted a better life for their future family. They became citizens 10 years later. I assisted getting them registered and dropping off their ballots. First time voters! I'm proud of my parents for exercising their civic duty. ... My reasons for voting have changed throughout the year. Sometimes it's for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and countless others that suffered injustices. Sometimes it's for gun control and climate change. These days I vote for 545 migrant children who were separated from their parents and cannot be located and reunited. I hope our leadership can right this wrong.
